I think most Barry County residents had radios back during the depression and that during the 1940s and 1950s it was an important element in the rural homes. Anyway, while growing up in Barry County, I listened to the radio and had my favorite shows. My grandparents liked the Grand Old Opry - but they listened to Amos and Andy, and to shows like Fibber McGee and Molly, too. I still remember some of those old shows and how funny they were. There was C. C. Weatherford who gave the weather on the Springfield station and also there was Porter and Dolly on the early morning show. One time I heard somebody say to Porter and Dolly that they butchered that one. That was pretty funny to hear on the radio. Tell us what you liked and what you remember as your favorite shows.
