I think this Merry Christmas Vs Seasons Greetings thing is getting a little out of hand IMHO - Merry means to be festive and joyous, Seasons Greetings is NOT removing Christmas as Ive heard some say, it actually INCLUDES Christmas because it is know to mean Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years (the Holiday Season) and the definition of Greetings is an expression of friendly or respectful regard. With that being said... The important thing to remember is that the whole meaning of the holiday, and keeping with the dictionary meanings... the annual festival of the Christian church commemorating the birth of Jesus: celebrated on December 25 and now generally observed as a legal holiday and an occasion for exchanging gifts. Which leads me to say this about that, If the season is celebrating the Birth of Jesus shouldnt we do this by not bickering over mere words but more so by following his greatest command? ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. I myself am thankful that someone takes the time out of the hustle and bustle of their busy day to wish many any kind of joyous greeting, to share a smile and in hopes remembers the true meaning of the season.
