I understand and fully respect peoples right to privacy. No one - TopicsExpress

I understand and fully respect peoples right to privacy. No one asked if it was okay to publish my name either on the Rebuild Coastal Bend College fb page but as current or former employees of a public institution, our name and position is public information. The only way people will know the truth, is if they educate themselves. Facts are facts. I had no problem with any of the board members, until they seem to only listen to Dr. Espinoza and I realized she was not fully informing them by only telling them what she wanted them to hear. The fact that CBC is wanting to spend $1mil on a baseball field is great!!! Until you understand that approximately 164 students were left in the cold without power in January and CBC had NO EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN to take care of these students. CBC stated in the Beeville newspaper that they cross-train employees but in the 3 years I was there, that is not a true statement. If you call any department today, you will be very lucky to get any answers if your questions are not about that respective department. The fact that many students are given incorrect information, made to wait unnecessarily due to positions that have not been filled in months (going on a year), and the fact that if there is an emergency at CBC, CBC has not updated or practiced their EMERGENCY PLAN IN YEARS leaving students and staff at much higher risk than need be. It is sad because CBC has/had some excellent employees and Dr. Espinoza as president was fortunate to have had many employees who love CBC as a family and still want the best for our students!! To be fair, in my opinion there were problems BEFORE Dr. Espinoza and I do believe Dr. Espinoza has a good business sense but I feel her lack of effective management skills have greatly hindered any positive she has brought. The fact is, I do not have proof yet that Dr. Espinoza hired her sister, if Julia Garcia is in fact her sister, as CBC Dean of Workforce Training nor do I have proof that Dr. Espinoza hired her niece as administrative assistant to Julia Garcia (idk her mother, aunt) but I do know Dr. Espinoza and Julia Garcia have had business relations prior to CBC and that she is paying Ms. Garcia $80K with her highest education being a masters degree and Dr. Johnson, Dean of Academics paid $67K with her highest education being a Doctor of Education. My concerns are for the students and future students. Dr. Espinoza has stated time and time again that she came from a migrant working family. I applaud her ability to lift herself out of that environment but do not put us down for caring about OUR Coastal Bend College where my father and I graduated when it was Bee County College. Where my niece graduated and my son and nephews attend. CBC is MY history and the future of many people that I love and it is time to REBUILD Coastal Bend College.
