I urge everyone to google the word Fisking before reading the following propaganda and abomination that one is forced to accept when one has a Free Press. I first met Robert Fisk in Baghdad in the operators room of the Palestine Hotel in March 2003. He was filing an eyewitness account, with quotes and interviews and everything, of a marketplace that had just been bombed by the U.S. shock and awe aerial campaign. The problem: Neither Fisk nor I had gone anywhere that day on account of the U.S. shock and awe campaign bombing the shit out of our hotel. Here he is interviewing Osama Bin Laden in 1993 for the British newspaper The Independent in the first interview Osama bin Laden gave to the Western press. Robert Fisk interviewed bin Laden in Sudan, where bin Laden was living a peaceful life. Fisk does note that the “Western embassy circuit in Khartoum has suggested that some of the ‘Afghans’ whom this Saudi entrepreneur flew to Sudan are now busy training for further jihad wars in Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt,” but portrays him as a former mujaheddin fighter turned peaceful businessman. The title of the article: “Anti-Soviet Warrior Puts His Army on the Road to Peace” speaks for itself. Fisk writes “When the history of the Afghan resistance movement is written, Mr. bin Laden’s own contribution to the mujaheddin - and the indirect result of his training and assistance - may turn out to be a turning-point in the recent history of militant fundamentalism…” Fisk tells bin Laden that his name has recently been mentioned by Muslim fighters in Bosnia and Bin Laden complains how difficult it is for fighters to cross into Bosnia He describes bin Laden as a Saudi entrepreneur and saying I am a construction engineer and an agriculturalist. If I had training camps here in Sudan, I couldnt possibly do this job. Hence, the verb Fisking
