I used to can SO many jars of JAM each year for the kids PB&Jellys. I always felt so appalled with the ridiculous amounts of SUGAR that goes in to jams and jellies and never really felt quite right about giving that to my kids, esp. when Im packing their lunches for school because I wanted to offer them healthier choices. ----->>If I dont eat it, its probably not good for them, either, right? I had ah AH-HA moment today as the kids were asking for PB&jelly. What if I used HONEY, with FRESH fruit instead??? So thats what I did!! I have to say it was a HUGE HIT with the kids. Im actually feeling quite LIBERATED - no more making sugary jams and jellys in the Smrcka household!!! Honey it IS!
