I want to send a shout out to all the DJs out here that put in the long hours and do what we do which is rock the crowd and show our faithful patrons a good time! But at the same time it disturbs me that over the last year I have read post after post about a lot of my fellow DJs falling to health issues. DJs its time for all of us to take control of your health and start to take better care of yourselves. As a DJ we have crazy schedules, keep long hours, are up late most of the time, work on a few hours (if any at all) of sleep, get back up the next day and many times do it all over again. It has become a vicious cycle we have all have fallen victim to and as a result we have taken up bad eating and drinking habits. Many of you have had some serious scares with your health, and understand that I am not saying all of them were a result of the lifestyle we can lead but it has become a wake up call none the less. Its time to make a change fellas and NOW! We all know that there is no retirement plan for us DJs so we gotta take better care of ourselves. Many of you may or may not know me personally but we are all family in this DJ game. Well 3 years ago I was over 270lbs, had Sleep Apnea and was on the verge of High Blood Pressure and Diabetes if I wasnt careful. Well I decided to change my lifestyle and take control of my health. I started working out, eating healthy and as result of all of this I lost over 55 lbs., and was given a clean bill of health by my doctor. And I must say that I feel better now that I have when I was in my 30s.I dont say this to brag but to bring awareness about our health and the choices we make. If I can do it you can too. Right now I challenge each and everyone one of you to make a change today and take control of your health. Start working out and eating better and you will definitely thank yourself later. I know it wont be easy but I dont want to see any more of my fellow comrades succumb to health issues if it can be avoided. If you havent, make an appointment to see the doctor to see where you are health wise. The public needs us to continue to rock the party like we know we can. And Dj-ing those long hours wont be as hard as it used to be. Remember none of us is getting any younger! Understand that changing your lifestyle wont be an easy process but you can do it. I have been there and know the struggle. If any of you need any help or healthy eating tips, recipes, workouts. please let me know. I am here to help in any way I can. Feel free to inbox me. I got mad love for all of yall and want us to keep rockin for as long as we can! #thefitdj #lovebeingadj #djsunited #healthydjsforlife #changeforthebetter
