I wanted to do something to remember Will by, which went beyond - TopicsExpress

I wanted to do something to remember Will by, which went beyond simple words, and to bring Awareness to the problem of Police Suicide. Though it is true, Will and I were not best friends that went out every Saturday; I actually haven’t spoken to him in 3 years. Nonetheless, we had something in common that is stronger than any friendship or blood ~ We Wore the Same Badge. I worked with Will closely many times and when you depend on someone for back-up you know deep in your soul this individual might just be the person who saves your life or who will die with you. You also realize you are accountable for them as well, and you might just be the one to save them. It is a daunting responsibility, which inevitably brings you both closer together. Nonetheless, we too often forget this and become trapped in the mundane of Police work, squabble over petty things, and allow each other to drift away. The weight of the Badge is heavy, and it takes everyone who wears it to bear the weight, or it will inevitably crush someone. Therefore, we must be there backing each other up, regardless if the Badge is on our chest or hanging in our closet, your shift never ends when it comes to being there for each other. Please educate yourselves, your families, your fellow Officers, your supervisors, and your Department about Police Suicide by going to The Badge of Life, The Code-9 Project, and Surviving the Badge. https://youtube/watch?v=i0bezGYVPL8
