I wanted to give a huge shoutout/virtual hug/sincere thanks to everyone who reached out and loved my family and me during this, uh, interesting holiday season. They say that during times of crisis we find out who our real friends are. This is often said with negative connotation, as if to say people won’t be there when you need them. But, you know what I found? I found that people are awesome, that I am amazingly blessed with an incredible network of support, and surrounded with people who not only care, but reach out and show it. Thank you. They also say that when faced with death we learn what our true purpose is, how we really feel about the lives we are living, etc. Having been there, I can tell you that this is true, and I can even save you the hassle of going through it yourself by sharing some things. Here is what I learned: -When someone you care about tries to shake your hand, hug them (unless this makes them uncomfortable, then you may want to hug them twice). -When you pull into a parking spot and a good song starts to play on the radio, don’t turn the radio off - take time to enjoy the song. -Walking slowly is better than not walking at all. -When you are a husband, your true purpose is to love your wife. -When you are a daddy, your true purpose is to raise boys into better men than you are. -And lastly, for my church goer homies, just as we desire a relationship with our kids, God desires a relationship with us. Thank you all again.
