I wanted to update you all on the situation with property - TopicsExpress

I wanted to update you all on the situation with property developer ‘Kylor’ and their plans to rezone land in Manyana to allow for the development of up to 380 new housing lots. You may remember that Shoalhaven Council previously supported the community’s request to restrict this development in a way that would protect our foreshore and allow a buffer zone behind existing properties on Curvers Drive. Kylor challenged some aspects of the Council’s decision with the State Planning Department. Following a report from the Planning Department, which was highly critical of aspects of Kylor’s plan, the company withdrew the challenge and has indicated to council it will pursue the amended council proposal. This is a great result for the community. A rezoning based on the community’s plan will protect the foreshore and large areas of environmentally sensitive land; it will create a buffer for existing residents and vegetation barriers along Inyadda Drive; it will also result in slightly larger lots and importantly fewer lots. There is still a long way to go and the Red Head Villages Association will be actively working with council and the Planning Department as the rezoning proposal proceeds to ensure the interests of the local community are protected. We will all have the ability to make submissions during this process. It is important to note that even after a rezoning there is still no approval for building on this land. That would require further development applications. This could take some time. We will keep you updated. For more information you can see the decision on the Planning Department’s tracking website: pgrtracking.planning.nsw.gov.au/ViewPGR.aspx?Mode=V&pgr=74 Justin Field President Red Head Villages Association
