I was 17, in my last year of 6th form, if u knew me then U will no I was quite rebellious & always though I knew best. Until I was inspired by a play Id seen... It urged me to write a short film. I did nothing with it for a while, it sat in a folder on my laptop with many other unused scripts Id written - I was unaware I could bring it to life. A few months later, having had a really awful few months I became very low & on top of that was feeling disheartened by the lack of auditions I was getting - everything was getting too much and I needed something to motivate me & make me smile again. Acting and being on set & around creatives is the thing that always does that. I decided to approach Tess with this script. We had worked together before and creatively were on the same page as well as having an amazing relationship. We then asked Aodh and then Jhalani & Chris. Having no budget other than the money in our own pockets we did everything ourselves. We cast the actors, brought props & equipment and finally we were ready to film. We filmed over 4 intense days. Literally 5am wake ups to midnight, early hours of the morning wraps. It was crazy & a roller coaster of emotion. We then went onto editing. Often spending whole 24 hours in the edit suite (going slightly loopy) Two years after this all began we have finally finished. Unfortunately we were unable to release this earlier due to technical & legal reasons. For these reasons, during this time, like all creatives should, we have all grown massively in our craft & having seen it so much are very critical & scrutinise it down to a T. We made many mistakes & I would do so much different in terms of my acting and the writing of the script... There are technical aspects that could be better to. Having said that, this is our first film and we put so much time & effort into it. It is a landmark for us and goes to show that if us, making our first ever film, can achieve this with no budget, what can be achieved. It was the most fun & eye opening experience ever and although its not perfect, I am so proud. It taught me so much about my craft & myself - and it was exactly what I needed to refocus me & take me to a place of contentment. I have come out more passionate, ambitious & motivated. There are bigger better things to come in the very near future for us all. Thank you to everyone who has watched and shared and commented. Your beautifully kind words have been so uplifting and meant sooooo much to us! I cant thank you more for this! If you havent seen it yet check it out youtu.be/DD3TtvL6PHo vimeo/115255894
