I was a real estate agent for many firms in the Redding area while my second husband was the elected Sheriff of Shasta County from 1982- (unknown at this time, awaiting disclosure). Mr. Bob Medley once stated to his agents during his weekly educational programs to us, that if we had not been sued, we were not working hard enough. This was a time when disclosure law and paperwork in real estate transactions took a Professor of Real Estate Law to understand. That is why Bob Medley had so many Brokers employed, outnumbering his agents. Towards the end of my time with Medley Real Estate, myself, as listing agent, Bob Medley as Broker, and my client were sued by a buyer of my clients home. The client won in court. The issue was the home had a cracked foundation. The seller did not disclose this fact to me or the office and I was negligent by not lifting the carpet and pad and inspecting the concrete foundation to inspect for myself if there was a problem with the foundation.
