I was feeling real tired and Rocco wanted me to make him over easy eggs and toast but instead I offered him something easy, a bagel and cream cheese to tide him over. I told him that I was going to go lay down for a minute and then I would make him his eggs and toast in a bit...he kept insisting on his eggs and toast and I was laying down and tired and my 8 year old said to me Mom where is your humanity? well turns out they are learning about humanity in church, So instead of arguing with him more I got up and started making him his eggs and toast, while I was doing so I asked Rocco to talk to me for a minute and said to him You know how this morning you were giving me a hard time in the car and you told me you werent a Christian like me? and you were being real sassy because you didnt want to go to church. Rocco said mhhm yeah. I said well something really neat just happened He said what? I said well you went to church and you had a good time right? and he said yeah (because he really does have fun, he just doesnt like being interrupted to go do something else sometimes) I said well you also really learned something cool today about Jesus Christ, you learned that He had a lot of humanity and you came home and you brought that piece of Him into your life by teaching me a little too and if you and I both go to church we can really learn together how to be more Christ like. He said Thats cool With that all said, even though Rocco is going to give me a hard time about going to Church from time to time, we are still going to go. Every time we leave there he is excited for the next week and this time he said as we left I want to go to the Easter night I am not going to force him to get baptized, I am not going to force him to believe, you cant force these things. But I do feel its my duty to introduce him to Jesus so he knows who He was,what He stood for and what He did for us. And in the process my son is going to be learning things that he is going to need throughout his whole life, he just does not know this yet.
