I was given a letter this week with a little note called A Mothers Prayer. I changed it a bit to match out lives.. Enjoy! A Cancer Mothers Prayer: Dear Lord, Its such a hectic day, with little time to stop and pray, For lives been anything but calm, since you called me to be a cancer mom- dressing changes, blood draws checking temperatures for flaws, chemo, meds, IV poles, and all the other nurse-like roles. Fitting caps on open lines, wiping tears and checking for signs, late night ER visits, extended stays, this is not how children should spend their days. Hoping, praying, and up all night, watching our poor little one fight. These surgeries have taken a toll, their pain and suffering hurts my soul. A stack of last weeks medical bills to read, but where is the quiet time I need? Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord, at the counter where the medicines stored, to ask the blessing of your grace, I see then, in my little ones face, that you have blessed me all the while, and I stoop to kiss that precious smile.
