I was having lunch with a member of the British Parliament in London when I received the news of a senseless and savage murder of 5 Israelis in a Synagogue in Jerusalem on Tuesday. Islamic terrorists carried guns and knives into the synagogue as Jewish worshipers prayed. The kind of evil, gutless, and morally bankrupt animals who would commit such a crime are adherents to a religion of hate, crime, and godlessness. Theirs is a religion of evil. No real God would order a slaughter of the innocents as they worshipped. Only a manufactured God based on raw and sinful selfishness would lead people to commit irrational acts of horror upon civilians all in the name of making a point. As we have come to expect, even so embarrassingly, our own American government, led by the inept and Israel-hating administration of Barak Obama and his equally incompetent but ever so arrogant, but cocksure Secretary of State, John Kerry reacted with predictable shame by calling on “both sides” to show restraint. One on side are murdering savages, creating carnage to people as they prayed. On the other was a civil government, forced to wipe the blood of its innocent people from the floors of a house of worship. The despicable attempt to try and bring moral equivocation to the nation of Israel and to Islamic jihadists is as disgusting as justifying the attack on Pearl Harbor because we had too many ships for the likes of the Japanese government. I repudiate the Obama administration for having a hole where a moral compass should be. It trots out intentional liars like Dr. Jonathan Gruber, who contemptuously snorts at the stupidity of the American people as he prescribes poison that he calls medicine. It pretends that the Constitution has been repealed and replaced with a writ that allows the President to be King and issue a decree that we have no borders, no laws, and no common sense. The federal government acts as a racist outpost for tax cheaters and scoundrels like Al Sharpton, so they can inflame the fires of discontent in places like Ferguson, Missouri, where truth, investigation and fact finding take a back seat to passion, anger, and lawlessness. At a time we could use a President who leads, we have one who follows the lowest common denominator of decency. His policies and plans are trounced in an election and he is so oblivious to the signal that he hears the voices of the non-voters more clearly than the voters. Both houses of Congress will soon be led by a party other than they circus of Barak Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi. It is incumbent on them to do more than oppose the embarrassing foolishness of a party who can’t see the difference between a lawful nation who defends itself and lawless terrorists who bomb and murder their way toward recognition. I urge Republicans to do more than oppose. I urge them to propose ideas that will help Americans have jobs and be safe; expose the corruption and contempt for law that is plaguing our nation; and to impose an adherence to the law for all Americans without regard for who they are and how much money they give to the politicians. That would sure make this Thanksgiving something to be thankful for. -Mike Huckabee
