I was in Berhampur for 3 days in connection to the field visit of Phailin and Flood affected area and our partnership with 2 local NGOs such as Sabaramati Samiti, Gopalpur and COSA (Council for Social Action), Berhampur on the restoration and livelihoods programme in Khalikote and Ganjam Blocks of Ganjam District. I along with other colleagues (Mr. Santosh Kr. Patnaik, Secretary, COSA, Berhampur, NYK District Coordinator and Mr. Satyhanarayan Sahud, Lucky Media, Bhubaneswar) visited six villages of Ganjam District on 25th October. On 26th I attended the Ganjam Disaster Response Forum (GDRF) meeting held at Samartha NGO Office, Chhatrapur and then participated in the IACG (Inter Agency Coordination Group) meeting held at the Collectorate Conference Hall, Chhatrapur, in which the District Collector had facilitated the meeting yesterday. Both the meeting was found to be very effective, useful and informative with regard to the current prevailing situations of Ganjam District and we will discuss in detail about this at CYSD today. Mr. Mangaraj Panda, Secretary of UAA and Mr. Loknatha Mishra, Secretary of ARUNA has been nominated as the representatives of the Ganjam Disaster Response Forum (GDRF), who will keep in touch with the District Administration from time to time with regard to the various issues, opportunities and challenges of relief, rehabilitation, restoration and livelihoods programme in Ganjam district. A new E- mail account of GDRF has also opened for better communication of the forum such as ganjamdisasterresponse@gmail - Today I will attend the OSDMA meeting definitely and OPRF will receive both the minutes of the meeting that we had participated yesterday at Chhatrapur.
