I was nominated by my client Denise Norwood to participate in the ALS ice water challenge. Since I refuse to dump a bucket of water on myself, here is what will be happening instead; I am donating directly to the Steve Smith Fund and gracing yall with a little bit of education. Smith has been living with ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that eventually leads to paralysis. ALS attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord called motor neurons that control the muscles that allow us to move our body parts. ALS is a debilitating, terminal disease. Pictured below is Smith prior and post diagnoses. I will not be nominating anyone else; HOWEVER, I do encourage each and every one of you to research charities and donate/volunteer to causes important to you. Backpack Buddies and the ASPCA are personally where I enjoy to donate/volunteer.
