I was there yesterday evening, naively thinking that no one would intervene in a memorial gathering for people who have died - naive, because last week, the police intervened in the funeral proceedings of Ethem Sarisuluk that was killed by a plastic bullet fired by a policeman during protests... naive, because the PM has continued hate-mongering in his speeches, usurping all terms like democracy and rights and filling them with his (and his governments) warped idea of what they mean... and each speech has been followed by extreme police violence against protests... The PM blamed the protest with flowers against a political party, the israeli secret service and a web-based flower store... it is so ridiculous that it is hard to believe... and the worst is that the people that are listening the the PM actually believe the ever exaggerated lies... Ane while we keep our chins up with humor, solidarity and sharing, with the support of international witnesses (the local media are either self-censorship or like last night, prevented from reporting on the protests and police violence) the situation is maddening...
