I was thinking, yesterday morning, that although I am a complete politics junkie, I hate the Sunday morning shows. Then I thought, Well, thats because they are completely biased, and do not fairly represent the liberal/progressive/democratic viewpoint, at ALL. I wish they did, because weekend programming for politics junkies can be sparse without those Sunday shows, and I usually find myself watching re-runs on FSTV, or something on Aljazeera (which isnt bad, btw - check out The Stream, Consider This, and TechKnow). Then, I heard this great quote from Thom Hartmann today: If its Sunday, its Meet the Republicans. I have to agree! Im NOT crazy, there truly IS a Republican slant to the Sunday morning shows, and, to be honest, Im pissed! I did catch a bit of MTP this past week, and was truly astonished to hear David Gregory actually offer up (as Devils Advocate, Im sure) a defense, or at least an explanation, of Snowdens actions, that was not 100% Hes a traitor! That was astounding, after the way Gregory questioned Glenn Greenwald, a while back, as to whether journalists should be charged with espionage, merely for reporting someone elses findings! Truth to tell, it still hurts too much to watch MTP, after the stunningly spectacular job that Tim Russert did on that show. I STILL miss him, and to me, David Dances with Roves Gregory is no comparison - He danced with Karl Rove, on STAGE!!! What more needs to be said! Would Tim Russert EVER have shared a stage with Karl Rove, and if he did, would he have been game to start dancing when Rove did (at the Radio and Television Correspondents Association annual dinner, 3/28/07)? I think not.
