I watched the documentary about this story and understood the situation much better afterward. The elderly lady suffered 3 degree burns to her thighs. (3 degree is the most severe! ) The fresh of her inner thighs was charred black and the hot liquid caused a lot of damage and required extensive burn trauma care. When it happened, she was not driving because the car was parked. She was not in for the money, she water her hospital bill reimbursed and that was that. The headlines were outrageous and other medias couldnt help making sarcastic comments on her, but when you realize the severity of her injuries you cant fault her for suing. The real story certainly made it clear that she had a legitimate case.
