I wish the tiger had made its kill. The bastards of cowherds just drive their cattle into the forests where they graze freely on fodder that is meant for wild herbivores. depriving them and also spreading diseases for which the wild animals have no resistance. Once in a way a cow or buffalo gets killed and eaten by tigers and panthers but the cowherds feel thats an acceptable risk. By the way these are professional cowherds. Every year, after the cattle is done ploughing the fields, farmers hand over the cattle to these cowherds who look after it till they are needed again. In Coorg, thousands of draft cattle belonging to rice farmers/planters are herded by professional cowherds to Periiapatna and neighbouring taluks where they are released into the forest for grazing. Fortunately, with the advent of mechanization many farmers have stopped using cattle for draft operations.
