I would be happy to see also Guggenheim in Helsinki since it would be great to have more museums and other interesting locations close to Kauppatori both for us and the visiting guests. Also a few high end hotels would fit well on Katajanokka side. According to my personal vision in the long run there could be a cultural living room for the citizens in the main railway station (nowadays VR office) and this would be starting point for a green citizen boulevard heading to Pasila. On the top of the existing railways there would be plenty of room for sports venues and below ground a large sports center could be constructed in Pasila containing both winter sports and water sports. In all these locations sustainability and energy efficiency would be in important role as well as green areas including a gorgeus landscape park on the way from the main railway station towards Pasila. Contemporary knowledge allows both building covers on the top of unpleasant areas and using those for construction of new urban areas with green emphasis, and bullding underground. In regard to Guggenheim, I do have already my favorite and I think there should be enough room for both Guggenheim and a large cultural center in the old VR-office space, which hosts now about 600 working places. If e.g. 300-400 artists would be collected into the same building, it would be possible to create a stronger competence center compared to a solution in which small amounts of people are located all over the city, such as in Harakka, Lapinlahti etc. Easy accessibility is important both for artists and visitors, and VR HQ would fulfill that criteria well.
