I would describe this day in my life as quietly thrilling and exceedingly satisfying. I was so fortunate to be able to attend the funeral of a wonderful man and long-time client who died suddenly last Thursday. We started on a new garden installation. I went to a nursery and bought myself a new pine and went to Costco. Tonight, pasta with pesto and shrimp, then spending the night writing. What Ive learned about life is that you can reach for the stars without having your eyes blinded by them. Appreciate the simple beauty that life brings your way in the form of nature and relationships. There is an easy underlying joy and deep satisfaction that comes from living this way. Seize the day and honor your gifts because you are special; no one else has the unique blend of gifts that you have. Although Im not nearly as religious as I once was, primarily because religious people can be really mean, I endeavor to live by one scriptural verse that says We have this treasure in vessels of clay, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God and not of ourselves. Again, always honor your gifts and talents. Without them, you are mundane. And I would choose death over living a mundane life. OK, Im heading out to my boardwalk in the woods to enjoy some wine and listen to the wind chimes on this unbelievably beautiful overcast breezy day. Peace to all.
