I would like to introduce you to Steven Turner our biggest supporter, my dearest friend, and a great positive soul who believes in sharing the power of drumming as a way to salvation. He is the owner of Giving Tree Music and we met through the world of drumming sharing the love of the Djembe. He will be surprising the kids at the Pinellas County Youth Ranch at our Christmas Banquet with a large Drum Circle. It does not end there, but he is bringing another surprise a group named B.R.U.D.A.S...They inspired these children last year at my Giving Thanks Event , so I cant wait to see their smiles and excitement. The BRUDAS (Bright Residents Using Drums As Salvation) are a group of young men who are serving an average of a one year sentence in Riverside Academy - a residential youth detention and substance abuse treatment center. Led by Steve Turner of Giving Tree Music during weekly sessions, they build drums, learn traditional drumming as well as leadership and self-empowerment skills.
