I would like to send a sincere thank you to all who attended CFA’s 65 Roses events in Canberra yesterday 28th May. I know that it was a cost for many with flights, accommodation and time off work, Thank you! It was wonderful to see so many members of the CF community come together to support each other and deliver a united powerful message to Minister Dutton, the Department of Health and Vertex “Our loved ones deserve better, Our loved ones deserve immediate action, they are priceless” Our message was strong and heard, it is unprecedented to have a Federal Minister not only attend an event but to attend two events on the same day and speak at both. Minister Dutton also read a letter from the Hon. Tony Abbot PM to the CF community and the MPs in attendance, this to is unprecedented. After the morning event I attended the Press Club where Minister Dutton was the guest speaker. Minister Dutton started his address to the National Press Club by invoking the morning meeting with Cystic Fibrosis community members and the need to fund high cost treatments. The success of the events demonstrates that Cystic Fibrosis and its insidious impact on families is on the minds of parliamentarians. Here is some of the media coverage related to the 65 Roses Canberra Event. cysticfibrosis.org.au/ Warm regards and thanks Michelle Skinner
