I wouldnt normally post something like this here, but I am kind of tired of telling the story over and over again. I apologize to those of you who know already, but here goes... On Tuesday morning I will be checking into the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC for a couple days for a major knee reconstruction surgery. No, I was not in an accident. Unfortunately, my tibia and fibula meet at too steep of an angle and after many years of sports and day to day life on the knee, there is permanent damage to the bone that needs to be corrected with bone plugs and a knee cap realignment. The worst part is that in order to correct this from happening again in 2-3 years the doctor has to break my leg, cut off a sliver of the bone and then re-attach it with screws. I will be on crutches for 3 months and then a long rehab after that. I will be missing some board meetings in the coming weeks and this will obviously affect my work schedule and limit my activity for a while. I will be forced to slow down, which is not a speed I am used to. I apologize in advance if I dont get back to you if you call or email me this coming week and probably the following week as well. I am lucky to have the best nurse in the world to help me get better...my beautiful wife Jaime Bonura. Thank you for the good luck wishes for those of you who I have already seen.
