While they may be well-known, eloquent in speech, and entertaining, they will do nothing other than LEAD YOU ASTRAY from the straight path. From ‘Abdullaah Ibn ‘Umar Ibnul ‘Aas (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) who said, “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) saying, ‘Verily Allaah does not take away knowledge by snatching it away from the people, rather He takes it away by taking away the scholars, until there is not one scholar left. So the people will take ignorant leaders, so they will be asked, and they will give rulings without knowledge. So they will be misguided, and they will misguide.‘” [Saheeh Muslim (8/60)] “So what is intended by ru’oosan juhhaalan (ignorant leaders) is not that they can neither read nor write, rather the intent is the one who speaks about the religion of Allah without knowledge, even if he is one who delivers sermons, authors (books), gives advice and admonition…They are the ignorant (people) from whom knowledge is NOT acquired.
