IMPROVISE CURIOUS: One of the best notes Ive every gotten, and constantly give is WHY? Why does your character do that? Why are you having the the conversation your having now? Why are you in that particular location? This, to start, is so that you can justify the unusual in order to play the game of the scene. But it shouldnt end there, it should be the driving force behind everything you do onstage. If not, then why are we seeing this scene at all. I think the best example would be when we play mean, or evil people. Why are they evil? Were they born evil? Thats too easy, and shows lazy justification. They got that way for a reason, and more then likely there is a good scene in that. Be curious all the time on stage, thats what it means to explore. Dont judge a character, discover why that character makes the choices they do. By doing that you will find much more interesting dialog.
