IS IT WORTH IT ? That person you always make exceptions for , That amazing constant in your life , Much time we give to them , We tell them so much about our lives , Our unending love we confess to them , In the end , they are that dark pit we struggle so hard to climb out of , Love , is it worth it ? In school , we work pretty hard , Some even graduate summa cum laude , I tell you I have passion , you tell me you require five year experience , Crestfallen , I exit your office , I also realize that meritocracy is overly exaggerated , Hardwork , is it worth it ? We are told to keep it clean , Don’t bribe , Stand by our principles come what may , In short , be the nice guy , One too many times they get trampled on , And ‘ nice guys finish first ‘ remains only a sentence , Integrity beyond reproach , is it worth it ? In the end ,we stand beside a grave full of our dreams , Imagining what could have been, Finding no flaw in our plans , Hands we throw in the air and we give up , We ask ourselves , is it really worth it ? Even a dead clock shows the correct time twice a day , Completely finished , you aren’t , You are the handicap you must face , Don’t hate the game , change the player –which is you , The sun is always shining , You just need to remove the clouds , Tapping out , is it worth it?
