IS KWARA READY FOR FREEDOM? Today, I believe Kwarans are more - TopicsExpress

IS KWARA READY FOR FREEDOM? Today, I believe Kwarans are more ready for freedom than ever before. I say this because of the outcome of PDP primary elections where people truly voted for those people they want to represent them not because of money, fame or power. You will agree with me that, nobody thought those who emerged could emerge. That is freedom from old ways. Prior to this time, I have always held that many Kwarans prefer to stay in political bondage rather than seek for freedom. They prefer dictatorship rather than democratic process. Don’t blame me for such believe, it was from my experience. I have related with many Kwarans on the political situation over the years and also worked with many so called politicians in Kwara State, and till date, some still owe me money they borrowed and never paid back. More like a 419 politician disguising as freedom fighters. Just like these 419 politicians, many Kwarans only talk about freedom, they are not willing to act or sacrifices for it. When other youths are running after politicians collecting money, I was busy spending my money for other politicians because I truly believe in the need for change. And since they often claim to be fighting for freedom, I supported them with all my capacity, energy, skills, time and resources. Yet, they often end up as even worse than the unwanted menace. So, when all opposition politicians assemble themselves in PDP claiming to be fighting for freedom, I felt the veteran 419’s would still have their way over the choice of the people since they can pay their way as usual, but now, the outcome of PDP primary election proved me wrong. Who could think that Funsho Aluko would defeat the combined forces of money and false popularity by the likes of Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman (former governorship aspirant and oil magnet) Oloriegbe( runnerup for senate in 2011 election) LAK Jimoh( veteran politician) Bilkisu Gambari (forme senatorial candidate) etc. Report have it that, Abdulrazaq Abdulraahman offered N100k to each delegates, but a mere N20k from Funsho got him the votes. For every 5 votes Aluko get with his N100k, Razaq got only 1. If razaq got 80votes which is 100k x 80 = (8million), Aluko who got 83 did that with mere 20k x 83 =N1 million, 660,000k. Here we can see that, while Kwarans want money, they don’t want the kind of money that would prevent them from having their freedom. They went for the candidate they wanted, not the one that bought them. With such a spirit, I have no doubt that Kwarans are indeed ready for freedom and liberation. Also, who would believe S. S Ajibola could emerge from PDP primaries as winner? Its hard. But while those with money are busy littering our street with billboards, Ajibola was busy meeting with the most valuable decider (Kwarans). When some candidates rely on Asorock to win for them, others also rely on a so called godmother, Ajibola put his faith in ordinary Kwarans who mattered most. The election was done, money was defeated, godmother was defeated, Abuja was defeated by Kwarans and the true choice of the people emerge against all odds. This is a good development every reasonable Kwarans should be proud of. It is not about the money, not about the fame nor about Asorock, it is about Kwara and Kwarans must decide. The outcome of that election truly convinced me that indeed, Kwarans wouldn’t sell their freedom to whoever no matter the offer. If Razak’s 100k is not good for Kwara, It is not good for the delegates. But if Aluko’s N20k is what Kwara needs to be free, its good for the delegate. People must not make gains from politics at the detriment of Kwara. Let me specially thank those who stood for truth and defeated the kind of money that Kwarans don’t need. It would interest you to note that, many PDP delegates are here reading us, they are members of Kwara Must Change and we urged them to do the right thing by supporting the best candidate even if he or she has no money to offer. Thank you for doing the right things. While I still remain non-member of any party, I urge you all to always act right, civil and fair. You can’t claim Bukola saraki is a dictator and you are supporting Bola Shagaya to dictate. You can’t claim Bukola saraki is not democratic when you are supporting the undemocratic practices of Dele Belgore. Since all aspirants participated in the open primary election and until this moment, there was no any complain about any irregularities in the conduct. No candidate, I repeat, no candidate have the right to wish or attempt to acquire the party’s ticket through undemocratic means. All those supporting Dele Belgore to go through the back door are perfect example of confused democrats. These people are worse than Bukola Saraki. Mr.Rights
