ISRAEL?? Gen 32:27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. The above verse takes place right after Jacob wrestles with the angel that blessed him.. I thought this would be a good starting place to explain a few things.. Gen 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but ISRAEL: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. As we know God always uses words that have meanings.. the word ISRAEL means he will rule as God.. think about that as we go through this little note on ISRAEL because theres a big meaning and were all part of it... The verses I posted below I did just to give an idea as to whats going on..Jacob whose name is now ISRAEL is ready to die and Joseph brings his sons to see Israel and he blesses them.. remember.. keep the name Israel in mind.. Gen 48:11 And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed. So Israel gets to his his grandsons Gen 48:12 And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth. Gen 48:13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israels left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israels right hand, and brought them near unto him. Gen 48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraims head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manassehs head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn. Gen 48:15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, As I said..Im not going in any depth here I just want to point something out..look at the verse below Gen 48:16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and LET MY NAME BE NAMED ON THEM, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. Theres a couple things to point out here... first off.. the name of ISRAEL was put on Ephraim and Manasseh.. he shall rule as God ..ISRAEL... and Ephraim and Manasseh are a people .. this is prophecy that is to take place when ISRAEL shall rule as one man.. no please dont think that Im speaking of a land mass.. God put this in the Bible to testify of a people... Look at what the word Manasseh means.. cause to forget.. and the word Ephraim means double fruit.. all I ask is for people to please pray on this thing.. its even bigger than what is here.. this is just the surface of the subject..its all through the book
