Identity With God’s People Tonight Pastor Cuozzo advanced - TopicsExpress

Identity With God’s People Tonight Pastor Cuozzo advanced through the study of Esther chapter 7 posing the question: “will all of God’s people die?” There is hope for Christians who have made concessions to stand up and do what is right in the Lord. Earlier in the book of Esther, the decree had been made and the date had been set for all the Jews to be killed. In this study, Esther had revealed her identity as a Jew to King Ahasuerus. At the second banquet, she demonstrated her qualities of boldness and respectfulness in the manner that she approached the king: “If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request. For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish.” (Est 7:3, 4) Everyone who is under authority should be respectful, even if those in authority are not respectable. In an act of bravery, Esther admitted that she was one of God’s people. We are adopted into God’s family, which means that we are not only related to God, but we are related to all of His people. Esther’s decision to speak to the king and identify herself as one of God’s people influenced many of those she identified with. Likewise, many decisions we make, especially as we become older, will influence and alter the lives of those around us. Do you identify yourself with God’s people?
