If Jesus hadnt died and rose again, there would be no reason to continue celebrating this day: Christmas. Its not about a baby, but what the baby was born to do. His birth, life, death and resurrection were all prophesied. He fulfilled every promise. So we celebrate His birth for the hope that it represents. We give because God first gave His son to us. -- Last year, my dads dad, my Grandpa Murray, read the Christmas story to us all. This year, Hes with Jesus, and we have the #hope of seeing Him again. I posted Grandpas narration last year, and this year, Im posting my dad taking his place in reading. I share to encourage you to treasure family time as life is so short, and also, so that you might take some time to think about the reason we celebrate this holiday at all. Its not for Santa. Its not for gifts or trees or carols. Its not because of family (even though that is the best part)! Its to celebrate the birth of the God-man for what he would live an die to conquer death and give us a future hope through faith alone.❤️ Email me with prayer requests or questions.
