If a friend of yours was injured, sitting on the sidewalk bleeding, would you chase off some stupid person taunting them because they fell? OF COURSE. You would defend your friend. Why should we treat similar situations online differently? Or not speak up just because we are not best friends with someone? I keep hearing to just ignore the problem. Because that tactic has done so well for us. When you see inhuman behavior, stop it. Report it, tell them they are being horrible, rally others to join not in name calling (therefore making us no better than them) but in blatantly showing that a$$hat how awful they are being through simple logic and the rules that are supposed to govern most comment sections. Maybe it wont make a difference that time, but you never know when you could be the trigger for positive change.
