If this Florida case is the "bandwagon", then ignorance, hate, and stupidity are the drivers. Remove the faces of the two involved. Remove the ages. Remove the color of their skin. Remove their names. What is left is the barebones for the case with no ability to judge based on anything other than facts. A neighborhood watch man witnessed another man walking in a gated community one evening. The man walking was wearing a hoodie and using his cell phone. Since there had been a string of break-ins in the community, the watch man decided to call 911 and report a suspicious person. An altercation ensued to which the watchman ended up having a broken nose, trauma to the back of his head and scratches and grass consistent with being on his back on the ground. The watchmen had a gun and used it. Unfortunately the other man did not survive. Jury of his peers found him not guilty, based on the facts that were presented to them. I hope and pray that we dont lose our ability to defend ourselves in the same manor because in all actuality, if put in the same situation, I would to the same thing. For myself, for you-my friend, and for a complete stranger.
