If what we hear is anything to go by in Mandera County, then urgent steps needs to be taken by the treasury to withhold disbursement of funds to Mandera County and the Anti-corruption commission needs to act with speed to investigate the matter. The romour is that MCA and the GCEs are holding the governor at ransom to usurp the role of the county government in fair awarding of over 200 tenders. I believe they are wolves in sheep skin that should not be trusted neither by the governor nor the general public to have any mandate to fairly distribute the tenders as per the clan matrix. I believe both the MCAs and the GCEs are overstepping their mandate as oversight body and as an informal tribal grouping respectively and they are self seekers who want to award the tenders to themselves or sell it to the highest bidders. It is therefore better for the governor to hold his ground and suffer any undue lash back honorably than to give in to their unholy demands and lockout the rest of the population from benefitting from the County resources. the people of Mandera need to stand up for the rights and resist such overtures with the contempt that it deserves.
