If you are a celebrity and you use Facebook Id suggest that you get your family members under control. A few years ago I became friends with Todd Farmer. He wanted me to do some PR for him while I was writing as the National Horror Examiner for Examiner. Shortly thereafter I witnessed a family member berate a fan of his work because the fan sent Todd a list of things about Todds writing that she really appreciated and then a few things that she did not. It was a very civil comment but this family member called the fan a variety of names including loser and nobody. It was really out of line. Later on this same family member went after another fan who really didnt say anything that could possibly be misconstrued as something negative. The fan and family member went back and forth for while until another Farmer who introduced himself as a cousin joined in on the attack. I had nothing to do with any of this so I shrugged it off, even though I that it was very classless. I wrote an article in which I mentioned Todds acting in Jason X. Since I considered him a friend I poked fun at him in a lighthearted manner. Well the original family member proceeded to go on the attack replying more than a dozen times on my articles comment section, a few times on my Facebook post and even in email. It was one of the most insane things I had ever seen. I went to Todd to discuss it with him since I wasnt intending on setting off any of his friends nor family but he ignored my attempts to communicate. That was all while I had my old, now defunct Facebook account. After starting this account, Todd sent me a friend request so I accepted. I messaged him asking how he was, whats new, etc. and then mentioned what had happened previously to which he assured me that he had a talk with his family members. He said they often forget that being in show business of any kind comes with criticism, both positive and negative and how he can handle himself, yadda yadda yadda. And that was that. The past is the past after all, right? Well today I commented on two things he posted and moments later that same family member reared her crackpot head and went off on me. This time it made no sense since the post was about Robin Williams getting Pam Dauber back on TV again. She replied 5 times before I could comment again. I commented asking her what the issue was and she again lit into me but this time she had help from another who also insulted me. I went back and removed my comments, all of them, since it was so ridiculous to begin with. I wonder what compels some people to behave in such insane ways?
