If you are a parent of a child at the Ymca, you should know about changes that are being made in our classrooms: 1. Teachers being told to leave half day and commute to other schools for after school programs for the ymca leaving a 18 to 1 ratio (teacher to child) in the classroom for the afternoon. This is legal but has never had to happen before. This is due to budget constraints. Trying to avoid teachers getting put on part time instead of full time. Why is there no money? 2. NO SUPPLIES. Have you noticed how little supplies are classrooms have on a weekly and monthly basis. Why are there limited supplies? Where is all the money for the childcare? 3. Has anyone heard of plans for a new daycare or childcare building. Werent we told as parents that the ymca was building one yet donations come in and no one has seen ANY PLANS AT ALL TO BUILD ONE. Where will our kids go now that walgreens has purchased the Gaynor center? Trailors? When is this SO CALLED BUILDING GOING TO BE BUILT? 4. Why do we have teachers that have NEVER GOTTEN A RAISE yet they have worked for the ymca for years? How can we expect these teachers to stay and care for our children when they dont get paid enough and they dont get raises or overtime? WHERE IS THE FUNDING for teacher development and pay? PLEASE READ THESE QUESTIONS AND ASK YOURSELF WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.. BE SURE TO ASK THE CEO OF THE YMCA OR MAYBE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHAT THE REAL TRUTH IS......
