If you dont see the danger in this, you are deliberately blind or dense, and you are part of the problem. A citizen was slapped by the Presidential Guard for his remarks in the presence of the President; the Head of the Presidential Guard lied in denying the incident happened, a lie the President was complicit in by virtue of his silence on the issue; the Aishalton village council then initiated proceedings to boot the man out of the village because of his previous behaviour, behaviour which the Guyana Times proceeds to highlight, but which was not cause for attempting to expel him prior to the slapping incident. He was warned by the security officer to keep quiet but this he ignored... Because of his refusal to comply to the officer’s warning, he gave him a slap on his face. However, he kept grumbling and saying all sorts of negative and disrespectful remarks.
