If you own a D-Link router, you need to be aware of this. Long story short, theres a security hole in the firmware used by a number of D-Link routers which allows remote configuration changes if a browsers user agent string is set to a given (disclosed) value. I gather the affected models include the DIR-100, DI-524, DI-524UP, DI-604S, DI-604UP, DI-604+, TM-G5240 and possibly the DIR-614 routers. The same firmware is used in the BRL04UR and BRL04CW routers made by Planex. Apparently, you can minimize any potential risk by ensuring the WiFi password is enabled and remote access is disabled. This means only devices on the LAN can exploit the vulnerability--like, your infected desktop.
