If youre an artist trying to break into the industry, and want to play at Kryptonite or any other venue for that matter, sending me a mix from your Soundcloud isnt going to do a lot for me. How many people do you think submit me their music daily? Daaaaiiiiilllllyyyyyyy. Put the work in. Show up. Try to pay me off. Beg. Do cartwheels. Bring me Whataburger. Follow me around the club. Find out who the residents are. Offer to pay to book your favorite artist just to open for him. Wait for me at the club. Find out who is close to me and whos opinion matters to me. GET MY ATTENTION. Im not saying I can be bought. What Im saying is that youve got to show me that once I give you the opportunity, youre going to take it and run with it... Not let it sit on the shelf and collect dust. We have the ability to do a lot for the right artist that proves hes hungry, and in the same breath, I have no time for the artist that proves he wants everyone else to do it for him. As hard as you work in the bedroom perfecting your sound -- thats how hard you need to work getting the attention of the people in the business that can put you in front of your future fans. Get at us, were waiting to hear from you.
