Ill post this, since Ive openly stated S179s ridership. Just how I modelled S179s op is based on these assumptions... 1) If SLBP plays with the schedule like what happened in the past... 3 mins per bus instead of 5 - 7 mins. Then the rough ratio of pax alighting along the way/ Pioneer and BNL BI is 1: 10: 2 [consider the bus is fully loaded]. 2) The other is considering that theres 18 mins per hour on S179, and 6 trips on S179A [This dun drop from the sky, its based on the bus fleet for PM peak slot]. The ratio is 1: 10: 2 as well. 1:10:2 is considering that theres people who boarded S179 at Blk 840 bus stop as well... These pax mostly alights at Pioneer. Thats how I got to know the 1700 passengers from the peak hours is the LTAs stipulated peak hour = the 1 hr time belt during the designated peak hour that has the highest loading factor... from the first look of it. Theres no way the 1700 is based on the entire PM peak. Simply because if that is being the case and 179/ 179As ops are properly managed, with 20 trips operated... The number is likely to be heading towards 1900 - 2000 range than 1700...
