Im always amazed by the things you can learn from old men if you just give them time to share their wisdom... It just sounds so real and insightful. Had the privilege of listening to 3 wazees today share how they dealt with challenges during their youth and the support structures they had plus how there is really nothing new under the sun. Their challenge to us today was to develop a relationship with our parents, our grandparents and the analogue generation if we are open with each other we can learn a lot. They are so concern with the widening rift that exists with the digital generation who they say they are needlessly burying everyday and it breaks their hearts because they have invested so much in children who they now have to bury. We seem to have a lot of knowledge these days but lack in wisdom and understanding our history/cultures... Today there was lots of real talk in Gatundu, the wazees were fresh and called a spade a spade. I leave greatly challenged by the interactions and young & old friends I gained today.
