Im at a loss. I dont recognize the world around me. As a child, I was insightful,if not mature. Being the proverbial and literal middle child, Regardless of reading situations there wasnt too many people to tell. Im in my mid~ forties now,so Im not sure what society deems old- school this week,but the world I grew up in is not the world today. The younger generation believes we are progressing.,while the old establishment is throwing the mother of all hissy fits to turn back the clock. Weve seen miraculous leaps forward,and a old ugly hate rearing its pathetic head to push progress backwards. Despite the horrible racism in the 50s and 60s,people looked out for one another. Rarely did they stab each other in the back for job advancement. And a greater yet non colored people could have their piece of the American dream with affordable homes,cars and decent paying jobs that were careers.Politicians didnt sell their services to the highest bidder,and if they did,they didnt brag about it while thumbing their noses at their constitutes. Many of the old politicians truly cared about serving their communities. Fightig crime,funds for education,neighborhood clean ups,block parties (that one is 70s and early 80s) What are we doing, how have We made so many strives and still cling dearly to all 7 deadly sins? The right to vote,burn your bra,choose your dream home etc. All major human victories are being threatened by (and this is my opinion) old rich white men who feel the power has shifted. That old ugly hate that rational people knew was still there in the underbelly,has made a bold come back. Its really a oxymoron,elected the first black (half black) president,racism roars back as freedom of speech. Since (To me) Ronald Reagon became president and implemented the trickle down economical blunder, the balance of power and money started its consolidation, not shift,there never was a time that white people werent in control,they came here as IMMIGRANTS seeking religious freedom among other things,decimated the natives,those indigenous to this LAND,(for those telling natives to go back from which they came) stole human beings and enslave them,worked them like beast of burden.but Reagans trickle down made the richs American dream the only dream that mattered. Then some were able to parlay a specific talent into a good living. But its fewer then we think. The 60s were wrought with a different struggle,trying to be seen,heard and thought of as equal had many casualties. However people stood together in the face of the enemy. For the minority it was a horror story complete with ghosts in white,stealing you from your home,off the street,killing like It was their rite,like todays hunters. Brutal punishment or ultimate judgement because of skin pigmentation or infractions like looking up,instead of averting their eyes in the presence of a white woman. We thought we overcame this,The Rev,Dr.Martian Luther King Jr.has a holiday and streets and boulevards named after him. Yet,in 2014,teen to young black males for the most part are being gunned down. Influential people are demonizing the black race to justify these murders. Black males are still the boogeyman with Hispanics, mainly the dark skin ones coming in second. Yet throughout history,the atrocities and mass murders have been committed by and large by white people. In politics,the trusted (or super slick candidates) has been replaced with corrupt, greedy,soulless,racist scared little men,terrified of Obamas succeeding and showing how much they hate Americans who cant bribe them. (MHO) They have waged a war with democracy, hell bent on destroying the country,president,and her people to undue everything America used to stand for. I am incredulous that the so- called Tea party is destroying what the real tea party actions stood for. They definitely dont represent the people,and are known to push for higher taxes on those paying the most. What has trickled down is greed,hubris,corruption,petty ignorance,arrogance, ego, unwarranted pride and hate. The behavior in Washington mirrors everyday life. Two alleged murderers were able through unthinkable support able to raise close to one million dollars each after fatally killing two unarmed male black teens, respectfully. One was acquitted identical to the 60s where klans men acquitted fellow klans men. This man part minority, was supported because of who the victim was. The other has yet to be charged. The supporters of these men are as offensive to me as photos of Black males hanging from trees with people smiling at the camera like its their photo op. Some police have gone from protect and serve to judge and jury. Actors,sports figures, TV personalitIites,singers and rappers make obscene amounts of money,yet there are millions that are homeless and hungry. Republicans and right wing extremists want to take away the only life line millions have. They preach small government and personal responsibility, yet want to control womens reproduction rights,want women out of the work force,and deny working Americans a realistic living wage. They have pushed hard for increase taxes on poor,working and middle income households while champion the trickle down debacle, and granting even more tax breaks for the top 1%. In a transparent effort to keep everyone thats not in their camp from voting,theyve been exposed as the lying,cheat and stealing party,that inexplicably still have supporters. I dont understand this world. This party criticizes everything out president says,does even eats and wears,yet hold the likes of Rush Limbaugh,Ted Neugent and Cliven Bundy up like templates of heroic Americans. The fact that Bundy turned out to be a backward bigot is secondary. Cliven Bundy was hailed a hero by conservatives for breaking the law. Litterly aiming guns at government agents,and people stood up and cheered. He broke laws put in place before Obama, yet hes still on his ranch. Justice,what can you say? Theres a disproportionate amount of minorities in jail for non violent to violent crimes committed by every race. The privatization of prison guarantees that grandmoms that cross the street to photograph a protest go to jail for a year. The highest court in America is so bias its hard to believe the law. Police commissioners call the commander~ and~ chief a nigger and gets to retire with benefits,and my family lost our home,possessions,and dignity because we dared to live black. I dont understand the world we live in. I contacted everyone from the white house to local allegedly on your side news outlets. And we are still struggling to keep our budget inn Room because the shelters take us out of town. School,education and legal obligations prohibit a move. And no one should be discriminated against, stereotyped and slandered because of skin color. I dont understand this world.
