Im currently only in Season 2 of Enterprise, but it is safe for me to say at this point that I feel that all of the warnings against this show, and the claims that it ruined the Star Trek franchise are unwarranted in my opinion. Could it be better? Absolutely..but I think that you could say that for the majority of shows on television that are much worse. I will save my final judgment until after I complete the entire series, but here are a few of my thoughts so far. What I like about Enterprise : 1. Trip is one of the funniest characters in all of Trek. As a fellow southerner, it is nice to see us represented. 2. Hoshi and TPol give any Trek woman a run for their money. Yes, even including the mythical 7 of 9. Im sticking with that. 3. Phlox is very funny and charming as well, and a nice break from the doctors of DS9, and VOY, who while enjoyable, tended to dwell on the drama queen side. What I dislike about Enterprise : 1. Something in me just says that Tpol shouldnt be 2nd in command. Trip just seems like he should be first officer. 2. Im not completely sold on Captain Archer yet, though I really do like Porthos. I watched a documentary with Scott Bakula, and it really made me like him more as a person, so the jury is still out on this one. 3. The theme music makes me want to buy ear plugs. Easily the worst in all of Trek, in my opinion.
