Im doing research on this artist Lecrae right now, and I am so damn impressed by this song. Its brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Watch: [Let me guess you counting money to the ceiling Difference tween us like at least a couple million Its foreign cars, pretty girls everywhere you go Yeah I heard it 30 times on the radio Lou Vuitton aint gon pay you for that bragging And Donatella prolly never heard your album Yeah they probably bout to label me a hater But I know these people greater than the songs they created Its little homies in the hood regurgitating And everybody watching thinking that you made it The truth is for a few designer labels and a little bit of paper now you 12 years slaving Hey but you aint Lupita So why you beat up and pushing people to lean on a double cup And a seizure It sound like you put your feet up You still a slave and money cant buy you freedom partna] The grammar could use some improvement (hahaha, I joke), but I love the message. Continued: [Tell me why the songs on in my car (hear the radio) Why the song on in my gym (what they saying now) And the songs stuck in my head (I cant take no more) I still dont know what yall saying Lemme lemme lemme do this Imma be a straight shooter And we was made in his image Why we so Judas Talking bread like we at the last supper Throwing money at these women make it rain in the summer I aint advertising brands on the radio They expensive and I know they aint gon pay me for Telling kids to go in debt, for the vette that theyll prolly never get But I talk about it every song And every song talking bout they selling work on every corner Dont talk about the laws, taking kids away from mommas Dont talk about your homie in the trauma cause he shot up Or what about your young boy messing up the product They dont talk about the bond money that they aint have And everybody snitch on everybody in the jam They dont talk about the pain, they dont talk about the struggle How they turn to the Lord when they ran into trouble Imma talk about it I dont care if the world try to swallow me I turn my back to em, tell em all follow me I know you gon label me a hater But inside you are greater than the songs you creating man] Outstanding. A great start. I want to see more. This guy has incredible potential. Wow. Id love to hear him on the radio. And see him on MTV and BET. Id love it! This really makes me very happy. Very happy. You know, when I listen to rap music while running (I switch to K97.5 during the commercial breaks), I get caught up in the music. But I never allow the lyrics to infect me. Instead I use the melody and beat and percussion as a springboard for my soul. In my mind a whole world opens up where I envision myself (and others) imparting conservative values (family, faith, discipline, hard work, etc.) via rap music. I have mental orgasms from that stuff. Its just nice to finally, finally, finally see someone bringing some of my dreams to fruition. Long way to go. But I like this. Its a start. Its not the final destination, though. Lots more work needed. But its a start . . . and a damn beautiful one. KUDOS!
