Im going out on a limb and saying that had the Fates not crapped in Twisted Sisters soup by having them, when their big moment came, (unlike The Shins and their rise in relevance after Garden State came out) feature as the feature musical component in Pee Wees Big Adventure, I think their heavy (if not incomplex) guitar play, coupled with Dee Snyders highly intelligent and underrated lyrical power would have gotten them firmly lodged between Aerosmith and Van Halen in the eyes of the undying rock gods. https://youtube/watch?v=n_8wkP6F1p8
