Im in love with your sense of adventure, lack of plans, unkempt hair, a spirit as free as the rushing river, goofy sense of humor, unbreakable spirit, the words that coarse through your veins, your soft and gentle spirit underneath the hard shell of a person that wont stop fighting, your will to try new things, your childlike wonder and imagination, your love of the simple things in life, your big teddy bear hugs, your fearless attitude, your ability to love with no bounds, your incessant desire for a better world and your unstoppable will to change it, your quietness when the worlds too loud, your humbleness when the worlds too proud, and most of all, the fact that you have never listened, not once, to people trying to make you smaller than youre meant to be. - note to self. i told myself i would express my gratitude toward someone today, and that someone ended up being me. love yourself, honor yourself. This world needs more people being their full selves, instead of their half selves. youre not here to follow a path someone already paved for you, youre not here to walk in someone elses shadow. youre here to run, full-speed ahead, toward your spirit that youve ignored for so long. you hoped that annoying voice would go away telling you to just travel the world, or just start that band or just paint that picture or just write that book. but it didnt. because youre supposed to grow into that person, not shrink away in fear of what you could become. all our lives weve been taught to hide behind who we really are, everyones been telling us that one day we can be our full selves when we get that high school diploma or lose fifty pounds or get that new shiny car or finally score a high paying job with a corner office on the top floor. what they didnt tell you is, you already have what it takes to be who youre meant to be. no other steps are required, except for you believing it.
