Im mixed on this. On the pro side, illegals would be able to obtain car insurance, making it safer and perhaps less expensive for legal residents and citizens when there is an accident. And what about migrant farm workers? How do they get from place to place so that we can eat? I am uncomfortable about food from unregulated countries. On the con side, all Oregon residents world have to carry papers when traveling outside of Oregon because unless illegals were identified on the license, it would no longer be proof of citizenship. Then theres the ethical issue of official sanctioning illegal immigration, which is terribly unfair to those wanting to come legally. I wish we had an efficient and fair guest worker program that could lead to legal residency when they did their work and kept their nose clean.
