Im not the most advanced cook but I do make perfect stovetop popcorn. My technique? Heat 3 tablespoons of canola oil on medium heat. Put 3 kernels of popcorn in the oil and cover the pan. When the kernels pop add a third of a cup of popcorn kernels and shake them into an even layer, cover and remove the pan from the heat for 30 seconds, then put it back on the heat. Keep the cover on but vent the steam a few times. Gently shake the pan occasionally. Let the popcorn pop till its almost all popped out and there you have it. Its Saturday night, people!
