Im so glad my husband was home tonight. We had the doors open letting the cool air in while we were getting the kids around for bed. We had a late night so it was about 8:45 and very dark out. We live in the country with a very long driveway. I was in the kitchen preparing snacks for tomorrow when I hear a mans voice that is not my husbands. There was a guy standing on out front porch asking for help. I think Coop was about to poop his pants he was so scared because he loudly told Ian dad get your handgun! loud enough for the guy to hear him. Ian had the two younger boys on his lap rocking them and quickly set them down and went into papa bear mode. He was treating the guy like a criminal and I started feeling bad for him once I realized he really needed help. Long story short the guy swerved to miss a deer and ended up in our swampy ditch and had no battery left on his cell phone. He was covered in mud up to his armpits and Im sure he was scared. Thankfully we were able to get him some dry clothes and call a tow truck. If Ian would not have been here I think I would have pissed my pants!!! Thanks for trying to protect us tonight Ian but I think this guy thought you were a real jerk when he first knocked on the door!
